From a massive music career and clothing brand to a successful perfume line and being a judge on "American Idol," it's pretty easy to see that Nicki Minaj has a lot on her plate.
And that's what happens when someone has transitioned from an "artist" to a "brand," as Mack Maine said of Minaj during an appearance on "RapFix Live." However, when you do become a "brand" artist, there sometimes aren't enough days in the year to do everything one sets out to do, and unfortunately for Minaj, that means not hitting the road this year, for the first time since 2010.
"I don't think I can. I really would love to," Minaj said of not being able to tour. "But I don't think I'll have the time, because I'm also going to be launching a few products this year that I'm really going to have to lend myself to the clothing line, I have a drink that's about to come out and these new speakers that you guys are going to see a commercial for this week or next week. So I have a lot of things that the business side of me has to work on, and I also want to be here so I can write. I obviously am going to start working on the third album very, very soon. I'm getting beats as we speak. I just haven't started writing, but that's my biggest priority at this point."
As Minaj's focus shifts to her third album, the Young Money MC won't leave her Barbz hanging: She revealed that "High School," her new single featuring Lil Wayne, may not be the last track to be released from Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded - The Re-Up.
"We might have one more, and I think the Barbz know which one it will be," Minaj said. "I've been working with Ciara a lot actually I'm in the studio to finish up a couple things for her today, amongst other things, but she has this dope, dope song. I can't wait for the Barbz to hear it, so we might end up doing the record ['I'm Legit'] I have with her as well."
